I'm sure, with all of the news coverage of the floods in Bombay, that some of you are wondering how we are doing. We have heard that there has been some flooding in Pune, but we have not seen any ourselves. It has been raining quite hard for probably a week.
We were actually scheduled to wrap up our outreach with a week in Bombay. We were going to leave today, but were informed during lunch that the roads have been closed due to landslides and heavy rain. We've also heard that the Bombay airport has been closed again due to flooding. Yesterday was the first day since the bad flooding last week that the airport had been fully functional. Good thing we're not flying out until Friday!
Saturday we had the privilege of leading worship for a worship conference here in Pune. We heard from several wonderful speakers, including Karen Lafferty (author of the song, "Seek Ye First") and Benny Prasad (a world renowned guitarist). It was an amazing time - we all felt truly honored to be there. The day ended with a worship concert led by Karen Lafferty, Benny Prasad, our band, and others.

At the end of the night, we got a rickshaw truck (we dubbed it a "truckshaw") to carry our equipment home. On the way back, one of our students, who was riding in the back of the truck with one of the drivers, felt that God wanted to do something in the life of the man sitting next to him. So he asked God to confirm it by having the man initiate a conversation with him. No sooner had he prayed this, than the man began to ask him about the church we were leaving and about Jesus. He found a translator when he arrived where we are staying and within a few minutes, BOTH drivers had accepted Christ.
Thank you all for your prayers. Please continue to pray about the situation in Bombay. There are so many there who are suffering. We would also really like to leave on Friday and the weather is going to have to cooperate.
God bless you all!
Kevin and Bec
